Blob-carrying transactions

Blob data availability and EVM calldata have different roles.

LET’S PICTURE IT

A delivery can include a large data package whose fingerprint is referenced by the instruction sheet.

A node receives a proposed transaction or block-related message. Receipt is not the same as accepting its claims.

Identify the blob purpose

Blob transactions provide a data-availability path introduced for scaling-related data. Blob payloads are not ordinary EVM-readable calldata.

Separate execution references

Execution can work with specified versioned hash references and related mechanisms. It does not gain unrestricted access to every blob payload byte through ordinary calldata reads.

Track fee components

Blob gas has a separate fee mechanism from ordinary execution gas. A transaction can therefore involve more than the execution fee shown by a simple calculator.

Keep retention assumptions explicit

Blob availability and long-term archival access are different questions. Check active protocol rules and infrastructure instead of promising permanent universal blob retrieval.

Map the protocol concept

execution transaction → versioned blob references
blob data path → availability validation
fees → execution component plus blob component

A conceptual model. Exact fields, limits and processing rules must be checked against the intended network fork.

QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE

Can ordinary EVM calldata reads access the complete blob payload?
