A receiving address is useful only with the right network and asset context.
LET’S PICTURE IT
Writing a correct house number is not enough if the parcel is sent to the wrong city.
SEE IT FOR YOURSELF
From a public address to a verified signatureStep 1 / 4
An address is public receiving information. It is not the private key that authorizes actions.
An address is public receiving information. It is not the private key that authorizes actions. The local signing system uses secret authorization material. It produces a signature; the private key is not sent along with it.A verifier checks the signed request under the account’s rules. A valid signature does not by itself prove that the action is safe.Balances belong to network state. A wallet is an interface and signing system, not a box containing coins.

Read more than the address
A receive screen should make the intended network clear. For a token, confirm which asset and contract are supported. An identical-looking address can exist on networks that do not share the same balance.
QR codes encode information
A QR code can contain plain address text or a structured payment request. A compatible wallet may interpret network and asset hints from a request. Scan results should still be inspected rather than trusted because the square pattern looks official.
The receiving account needs no secret disclosure
You can share a public address without revealing a private key or recovery phrase. A service asking for those secrets merely to receive a payment is a warning sign. Public sharing can still have privacy implications.
Practice the check here
Our support page labels the donation address as ETH on Ethereum mainnet and offers copy and QR options. Neither requires a site connection. Before any real transfer, compare the full recipient address in your trusted wallet.
QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE
Should you reveal a recovery phrase to receive ETH?
Receiving uses public destination information. It does not require disclosing secret authorization material.
