A fingerprint identifies encoded transaction data; it is not a success certificate.
LET’S PICTURE IT
A parcel tracking number identifies a shipment request. Having a tracking number does not prove that the parcel has arrived.

The text hello is a particular sequence of characters. Case or text normalization can change the encoded bytes.
The text hello is a particular sequence of characters. Case or text normalization can change the encoded bytes.UTF-8 hello is the five-byte sequence 68 65 6c 6c 6f. The 0x prefix is display notation. The algorithm maps the input to a fixed thirty-two-byte output. This is a fingerprint operation, not reversible encryption. For hello, the digest begins 1c8aff95 and ends 36deac8. The local hash tool displays the complete result and lets you edit the input.

A fixed-size identifier
A transactionhash is a 32-byte fingerprint derived from the encoded transaction. It is commonly shown as 0x followed by sixty-four hexadecimal characters. Ethereum uses Keccak-256 in the transaction hashing process.
Preparation and completion differ
Software can know a transactionhash before the transaction is included. A returned hash can mean that a provider accepted a submission, not that every node saw it or that execution succeeded.
Changed transaction, different identifier
A replacement that changes fee fields is a different encoded transaction and has a different hash, even if it uses the same account nonce. A wallet can group replacements visually, but the underlying identifiers remain distinct.
Keep the network context
Look up a hash on the intended network and inspect the receipt and block context. Our hash tool fingerprints supplied bytes locally; it does not fetch transaction status or establish that bytes belong to a real network transaction.
