What is a rollup batch?

Many local transactions can contribute to one published unit of information.

LET’S PICTURE IT

A teacher can collect several worksheets and record a shared summary rather than carrying each one separately to the office.

The first toy block records Maya sending Leo three units. A1 is an illustrative fingerprint label, not a real cryptographic digest.

Execution is grouped

A rollup operator or other participant can organize transactions into batches for its publication and settlement process. Exact terminology and formats vary between implementations.

A batch is not one user action

A user’s transaction can be part of a larger collection with shared publication costs. That helps explain why estimating an individual fee can involve more than counting local EVM instructions.

The published information must support the mechanism

A settlement design needs enough authenticated information and available data for its intended verification or challenge process. A short summary alone is not automatically sufficient for independent reconstruction.

Keep inclusion stages separate

An operator accepting a transaction, publishing batch data and settling a state claim are different milestones. A frontend should identify which milestone its success label describes.

QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE

Is a rollup batch necessarily just one user transaction?
