State your assumptions and keep permitted maximums apart from expected costs.
LET’S PICTURE IT
A travel budget can list the fare estimate, the maximum authorized fare and the money being delivered separately.

This example supplies twenty-one thousand gas used. It is a simple teaching input, not a live estimate of a contract call.
This example supplies twenty-one thousand gas used. It is a simple teaching input, not a live estimate of a contract call. With base ten Gwei, priority cap two and total cap twenty, the effective rate is twelve Gwei per gas.Twenty-one thousand times twelve Gwei gives two hundred fifty-two thousand Gwei, or 0.000252 ETH.The base-fee component is 0.00021 ETH and is burned. The priority component is 0.000042 ETH for the block fee recipient.

Begin with the requested action
Identify native value, gasallowance and fee caps for a simple execution-only case. If the action includes token movement, the token quantity is another asset quantity, not automatically part of the ETH execution fee.
Compute an expected example
Suppose gas used is 50,000 and effective price is 10 Gwei. The execution fee is 0.0005 ETH. If the native value is 0.02 ETH, those two supplied components total 0.0205 ETH.
Compute a ceiling with care
A wallet can use gas limit and a maximum per-gas cap to show a possible execution budget. Affordability and validity rules can require sufficient funds for caps even when the eventual effective price is lower.
List what the budget excludes
Blob fees, layer 2 data charges and changing conditions may require additional treatment. A manual example is useful because it declares these assumptions rather than presenting a pretend live quote.
