Who can use Ethereum?

The protocol is open, while individual services can set their own conditions.

LET’S PICTURE IT

A public road can be open to travel even when a shop beside it has its own opening hours and entry rules.

A node receives a proposed transaction or block-related message. Receipt is not the same as accepting its claims.

Open at the protocol level

Ethereum is designed so people can create accounts, inspect public data and submit valid transactions without asking a central account office. Fees, internet access and the ability to obtain assets can still affect practical participation.

Learning needs no money

You can study transactions, encode function arguments and simulate ideas without buying ETH. EtherTools runs local experiments so a beginner can start with curiosity rather than a funded account.

Services are a separate layer

Wallet providers, exchanges, websites and hosted RPC services have their own policies, availability and legal obligations. An open protocol does not guarantee that every service is accessible to every person everywhere.

Choose the next step

Begin with wallets and addresses to understand access. Continue to safety before using real assets. Nothing in these lessons requires connecting or funding a wallet.
