Make hidden environmental requirements reviewable.
LET’S PICTURE IT
A bridge’s load limit is part of its design, not an optional footnote.
SEE IT FOR YOURSELF
A valid counter call, step by stepStep 1 / 4
This example begins with count zero and a request to call increment(). No real contract is deployed.
This example begins with count zero and a request to call increment(). No real contract is deployed.Execution follows the code’s input and permission rules. A website button is not the access-control mechanism. The function reads zero, calculates zero plus one, and writes one to persistent storage. The accepted state contains count one. Later reads can inspect it. Events are emitted only if the code implements them.
Animated local teaching model. No wallet, RPC or live blockchain data. Some labels and hashes are abbreviated for readability.
List supported asset behavior
State whether exact transfer amounts, fixed balances or callbacks are supported. An invariant can be wrong if those assumptions are left implicit.
Name privileged trust
Document upgrade authority, pause controls and oracle administration. Users and reviewers need to know who can change effective behavior.
Specify time and chain context
Record the target fork, timestamp boundaries and cross-chain assumptions where relevant. Do not silently apply one network’s rules to all EVM-like systems.
Connect assumptions to tests
Each assumption should lead to validation, a test fixture or an explicit limitation. A prose promise without an implementation check can leave a real boundary unprotected.
Define the test
assumption → why needed
validation or test → supporting evidence
unsupported case → defined behavior or limitation
Test plans are framework-neutral unless labeled as complete Solidity or JavaScript. Use a local test environment and no real funds.
QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE
Should unsupported token behavior be documented?
It determines whether the application’s accounting assumptions hold.
