Some application designs can change behavior through explicit upgrade mechanisms.
LET’S PICTURE IT
A reception desk can keep the same address while forwarding requests to a different specialist. Who can change that forwarding rule matters.

Receive, check and share across independent nodesStep 1 / 4
A node receives a proposed transaction or block-related message. Receipt is not the same as accepting its claims.
A node receives a proposed transaction or block-related message. Receipt is not the same as accepting its claims. The node checks the relevant authorization and protocol rules. Popularity does not make an invalid state transition valid.Valid candidate data can propagate to peers. Connections and timing differ, so there is no perfect simultaneous worldwide view.Peers validate under the same protocol rules. This illustration is about verification and propagation, not a complete proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.

A deployment is not an editable web file
You do not generally overwrite ordinary deployed runtime code by saving a new Solidity file. Applications that support upgrades need a specific architecture and permission mechanism.
Proxies can forward execution
A common design keeps a proxy address while delegating logic to an implementation. Changing the selected implementation can change behavior while retaining the proxy’s state context. The exact execution and storage rules matter.
Compatibility is an engineering requirement
New logic must interpret existing state appropriately. Changing variable order or types carelessly can corrupt meaning. Upgrade authorization and initialization errors can also undermine the system.
Read the control policy
Who can upgrade, how quickly, and with what checks? A stable frontend URL or contract address does not prove stable application rules. Inspect the relevant implementation and upgrade powers together.
QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE
Does an unchanged proxy address guarantee unchanged application logic?
An authorized upgrade may select different implementation logic behind the same proxy address.
