Nodes exchange data through many connections rather than one universal message queue.
LET’S PICTURE IT
Classmates can pass checked notes to several neighbors, with different people hearing the same note at different times.

Maya prepares an instruction: send 0.01 pretend ETH to Leo.
A local simulation. Nothing is signed or sent to a network.
Peers are other participants
A node connects with peers and exchanges protocol messages. Network discovery and connection management help it find useful participants. No single app server must be the destination of every message.
Propagation takes time
Transactions, blocks and consensus messages do not reach every participant simultaneously. Delays and connection differences help explain why local pending views and temporary chain-head observations can differ.
Receiving is not believing
A node checks information under the applicable rules rather than assuming every peer is honest. Invalid data and adversarial behavior are part of the environment protocol implementations must handle.
Watch the transaction scene
Packets travel from one node to peers in our sharing illustration. The picture is simplified: actual message protocols, privacy paths and connection behavior are more varied than a perfect broadcast star.
QUICK CHECK · NO PRESSURE
Must every node learn a transaction at exactly the same instant?
Propagation is asynchronous, and local views can differ.
