# auth.md — EtherTools public access

## Agent audience

Search, retrieval and learning agents may access the same public content as human readers, subject to the content preferences below.

## Authentication and registration

Authentication: none. Registration and provisioning: not required and not offered. No accounts or credentials are created. Supported access method: anonymous HTTP GET or HEAD to the public resources.

Start with [the public catalog](https://ethertools.xyz/api/v1/catalog.json). Read [the OpenAPI description](https://ethertools.xyz/openapi.json) and [API documentation](https://ethertools.xyz/api-docs/).

## Credential use

Do not send bearer tokens, cookies, API keys, private keys or recovery phrases. This service has no OAuth authorization server, protected-resource metadata, agent-registration POST endpoint, identity assertions, email verification or credential-issuance flow. It cannot perform transactions or sign messages.

## Content representations

Request a public HTML page with Accept: text/markdown for its Markdown representation, or follow the catalog's explicit Markdown URL. Normal browser requests receive HTML. Vary: Accept separates negotiated variants.

## Content preferences

Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-input=yes, ai-train=no

There is no registration step before reading. POST registration probes and account creation are unsupported. This document describes public access; it does not claim OAuth or Auth.md credential-registration protocol support.
